WBL Foundation Associate Miriam Paramore, Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, Government Affairs, and Public Relations, Emdeon, Inc. was recently appointed to a three-year term to the Health Information and Management Systems Society . Board of Directors. Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is the health care industry’s membership organization exclusively focused on providing global leadership for the optimal use of health information technology (IT) and management systems for the betterment of health care.
WBL Foundation Associate Lisa Snow, Principal, Davis & Hosfield, LLC was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation . The Illinois Equal Justice Foundation (IEJF) lobbies for and grants state funds to non-profit legal aid organizations in Illinois. The funding for the IEJF, which comes through an appropriation through the Office of the Attorney General, directly helps families in crisis, victims of domestic violence and seniors facing abuse and financial exploitation.
WBL Foundation Associate Diana Vance-Bryan, Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Universal Hospital Services has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency . Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency (MVNA) is a non-profit home health and public health care provider in the Twin Cities. The mission of MVNA is to enhance the health of the community by providing compassionate, comprehensive, and cost-effective nursing care and preventative health services to the young and old alike, regardless of their economic circumstances.
WBL Foundation Associate and WBL Advisory Board Member Annette Watson, Managing Director, CARF International was nominated Chair Elect of the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) and will assume the Board Chair Role in June 2010. Annette was appointed as a Board Member/Commissioner to the CCMC in June 2007. The initial Commission for Case Manager Certification board opening was shared with WBL Foundation Associates as a WBL “Corporate Board Opportunity” email in 2007. Annette served as CCMC’s Treasurer and Chair of the Finance & Audit committee from 2008-2009. As Chair Elect she will also Chair the Nominating Committee. Established in 1992, the CCMC is the first and largest certifying body for case management professionals in the United States with nearly 30,000 certified case managers. The CCM designation is widely recognized as the premier credential for case management professionals.
WBL Foundation Associate Linda Ireland, Partner, Aveus, Inc. was elected as Chair of the Board-elect to Community Health Charities of America . Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia with 36 affiliates nationwide, CHCA works to improve the lives of people affected by a disability or chronic disease by uniting caring donors in the workplace with our nation’s most trusted health charities. Linda has been a volunteer of Community Health Charities for six years and has served in a variety of volunteer leadership roles for Community Health Charities at both the national and local levels.

WBL Foundation Associate Barbara M. Kelman, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Care to Care, LLC announces that Care to Care has been awarded Full Accreditation in Health Utilization Management by the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC), a Washington D.C. based independent, non-profit health care accrediting organization. Care to Care has also been certified by New Jersey’s Department of Banking and Insurance as an Organized Delivery System (ODS). This approval permits Care to Care to perform network management and utilization management for carriers operating in New Jersey. Care to Care is a New York based Radiology Benefit Management (RBM) company.
WBL Foundation Associate Marjorie Singley-Hall, Chief Executive Officer, Ampersand Associates, Inc. recently won the w2wlink Ascendancy Award for Business Women. Marjorie was selected as an outstanding woman who has “ascended” to achieve and innovate in the Transition to Transformation setting. W2wlink initiated the Ascendancy Awards to recognize, reward and inspire women to maximize their potential in their careers.
WBL Foundation Associate Deborah Walker Keegan, PhD, President, Medical Practice Dimensions, Inc. received the Medical Group Management Association’s Edward B. Stevens award for her article “Are You Ready for the Perfect Storm? Align Your Practice with the Changing Healthcare Environment.” This award recognizes a medical practice professional who has made a substantial contribution to the body of published literature to foster more effective and efficient health care delivery in the field of medical practice management.

WBL Foundation Associate Tali Gordon Ben-Ami recently joined Syneron Medical Ltd. (NASDAQ: ELOS) as Product Manager, Advanced Body Contouring. In her new role, Tali will be responsible for Syneron’s laser-assisted liposuction product line, as well as pipeline products for the body contouring market. Syneron is an innovator in the development, marketing and sales of ELOS™ combined-energy medical aesthetic devices. The company is based in Israel with offices in Irvine, CA, Beijing, China, Hong Kong, Latin America and Europe.
WBL Foundation Associate Camille Kurtz recently joined APS Healthcare as Executive Director. APS Healthcare, a specialty health services company, works collaboratively with Medicaid Agencies, state and local governments, health plans, employers and labor trust groups to design and deliver total health management solutions. Camille was previously at Care to Care, LLC.
WBL Foundation Associate Carol Murdock recently joined Healthcare Management Systems, Inc. (HMS) as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. She will be leading a team dedicated to competitor analysis, product positioning, pricing, marketing strategy and communications for all products and services. HMS is a Nashville-based health care company that provides an information technology system that integrates clinical and financial applications on a single IBM platform to over 650 community hospitals nationwide. Carol was previously at Healthways, Inc. (HWAY: NASDAQ).
WBL Foundation Associate Lisa Snow recently joined Davis & Hosfield Consulting LLC in Chicago, IL as Principal. The firm specialized in financial consulting within the litigation and dispute resolution process. Lisa provides consulting and expert assistance in dispute and investigation matters. She was previously at Huron Consulting Group.
